Support Programs

PublishingPageContent

Clontarf Beach State School has developed a culture that is supportive of all groups - students, parents, staff, volunteers and visitors. We are recognised in the broader community for providing safe and supportive classroom and playground environments.

We provide differentiated, focused and intensive intervention to students following identification processes. Through intervention, class teachers and teacher aides focus on providing small group explicit instruction, pre teaching or re teaching concepts for identified students in the classroom within the curriculum context. With this additional support and time, students often have the ability to access their age appropriate curriculum. In addition, a strong reading volunteer program has been established which assists students with reading. Volunteers are trained in Support-a-Reader, Support-a-Writer and Support-a-Number. Student Engagement teachers and teacher aides also support classroom teachers with all levels of intervention.

Our school team includes a number of support staff including:

  • Head of Special Education Services
  • Guidance Officer (two days per week)
  • Speech and Language Pathologist (one day per week)
  • Student Engagement Teachers
